Zuzanna dougherty

Zuzanna "Susan" Barney Dougherty, 96 of Binghamton, NY passed away June 11, 2021. She will be deeply missed. Mom was a devoted wife and mother, a very feisty soul only wanting the best for her family. Her Slavic background played a very important part in her life. Family gatherings consisted of traditional Slavic meals and the meaning behind them. Mom also enjoyed hosting many spaghetti dinners and pizza parties for the many teens that hung out in her kitchen. We will always cherish her strength and hard work ethic.
Sue was predeceased by her parent's, Vasil and Anna Barna, an incredibly special sister, Mary Kozak; brothers, John Barney, Stephen Barna and John Demyan. Her husband Gordon Y. Dougherty, Retired USN and many Dougherty family members- William & Dorothy, Kenneth & Lois, Nephew Mark.
Mom survived by her children; Colleen (Tom) Vroman, David Dougherty, and Jim (Lin) Dougherty; special nephews Alan Kozak, Duane Kozak, Tom and Stephen Barna, Tom Dougherty and niece Lori Michelson, Grandchildren Shawn, Kate, Bethany, Michael, Michelle, Zuzanna (Maggie); very special friend, Paul Berish and 7 Great Grandchildren. She loved her pets especially her kitties, in lieu of flowers consider a donation to Animal Care Council, 131 Washington Ave, Endicott, NY 13760. Most importantly an extra special Thank You to the NYS Veterans Home, Oxford, NY for their outstanding care.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Saint Michael's Cemetery, Town of Dickinson, NY with Rev. James Dutko officiating, on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at 11:00M.
