Verda Redenback Spencer, 94, of Oxford, NY passed away July 29th, 2012 at the Residential Health Care Facility of Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich. She was born on February 2, 1918 in the Town of Sanford, NY a daughter of the late Alfred and Sarah (Dimon) Joscelyn.
Verda is survived by her children; Jean (Leon) Barrows of Oxford, Leon Redenback of McGraw, and Dennis (Barbara) Redenback of Oxford; and her sister, Letha Phillips. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great great grandchildren also survive. She was predeceased by her husbands, Louis Redenback and Stanley Spencer and her brothers, Latimer Joscelyn and Clyde Joscelyn.
Verda was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a long time member of the Home Bureau. She served as a 4-H leader for many years. She loved to sew and make clothes. She had worked for Green Thumb at various places for several years.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with the Rev. Norman Holtz, pastor of the Faith Bible Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, Oxford on Thursday from 5-7 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Bible Church, Butler St., Oxford, NY 13830.
