Tonnia Marie Tompkins (Wakefield)

Tonnia gained her wings and was reunited with her beloved angel daughter Amelia in heaven Sunday, February 26, 2023. Her struggles are now forever gone.

Tonnia was a fun-loving soul and cherished time with her family and friends. She loved music, reading body art and  the color purple.

Tonnia was born November 26, 1975. She was a CNA, she received her Associates degree, an accomplishment she was very proud of. She also received her Notary Public certification.

She was later employed by GHS, Frontier and MeadWestvaco.

Tonnia’s most recent years were spent advocating for justice for her daughter Amelia against domestic violence.

Tonnia is survived by her father and bonus mother Larry and Tami Tompkins, brother Jeremy (Betsy) Tompkins, sister Rebecca (Drew) Walling[MT1] [MT2] , brother Keith Tompkins, sister Alyssa Youngs, brothers Zach Schraft and Cody Schraft. Grandparents: Sharon (Nana) Shackelton and Ralph and Lola Shackelton. Many special nieces, nephews, cousins’ aunts, uncles, and her canine companion A.K. whom she adored.

Bonus family members; Jim and Donna Wakefield, Ronald Menard, Bridget Fuller, Theresa Schaeffer, Jessie Fisher, Renae McGowan, RJ Menard, Jenna Sheppard, Ian Menard, and their families.

She was predeceased by her angel daughter Amelia Wakefield, her mother, Joanne Schraft, Grandparents, Everett (Larry) and Althea Tompkins, Oscar and Betty Schaefer, special friend Carolyn Fisher as well as her aunts and uncles.

Calling hours will be held at Behe Funeral Home, Oxford NY Tuesday March 7, 2023,  from 4:00PM  – 6:00PM with her funeral immediately following at 6:00 p.m.
