Stanley 'stan' johnson

Stanley Johnson of Guilford passed away unexpectedly on October 12, 2015 at his home. He was born on March 5, 1931 in Port Richmond, NY a son of the late Carl and Julia (Telefson) Johnson. On March 31, 1956 in Guilford he married Marjorie Joslyn, who survives.
Besides his wife, Marjorie, he is survived by his children, Sally Johnson and Stephen Chunglo of Lewes, DE, Carol Johnson and Stephen Matties of Rochester, NY and Larry and Danielle Johnson of Guilford; his brothers, Roy Johnson and Kenneth Johnson both of Guilford; his grandchildren, Craig Chunglo, Julia Chunglo, Justin Martin, Jennifer Matties, Michael Matties, Janine Gutierrez, and Richard Gutierrez; and his great grandchildren, Austin, Lauren, Alyson, Gabriella, and Catalina. He was predeceased by his sister Eleanor Abildness.
Stan was a graduate of Guilford Central School, Class of 1949. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a carpenter for Robert Wessels, from 1954 to 1994. He then helped Lynn Christian and Francis Hubbard. He was a member of the Guilford Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, and feeding and watching birds.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October, 16, 20015 at 11:00 AM at the Guilford United Methodist Church with Rev. Barbara Iberra officiating. Burial will be in the North Guilford Cemetery with military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Guilford Fire Department or the Guilford Emergency Squad.
