Sara a. thompson

Sara A. Thompson, 100 of Liverpool, NY formerly of Oxford passed away on August 18, 2017 at the home of her daughter, Louise. She was born on April 14, 1917 in Preston, NY a daughter of the late Seth and Carrie (Wiley) Bullock. In May of 1935 she married Kenneth Thopmson.
She is survived her daughters and sons in law, Thelma and James Townsend of Norwich and Louise and Ronald Reese of Liverpool; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Dianne Hanna and children, Mackenzie and Nathan, Nancy and Aaron Aurela and children Wesley and Ethan, Robert and Jennifer Reese and children Payton, Lillian, Nicholas and Nate.
Sara was a graduate of Oxford Academy and Central School. She was a long-time member of the Oxford United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a member of Lafayette Chapter #340, Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron seven times and was also Grand Representative to Indiana. She was active in the Oxford Senior Center and lead their kitchen band playing the piano. She was always willing to help others. She enjoyed sewing quilts and clothes. She enjoyed reading Harlequin books.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, NY, with an Eastern Star memorial service followed by funeral services with Rev. Michaela St. Marie, pastor of the Oxford United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
