Ron is predeceased by his parents and his sister Donna Armondi.
He was a child of the 60's and 70's and known as Hippie to most people. He did many jobs throughout his life. Of those he enjoyed being a mechanic, doing body work and painting cars. He even helped build the EPCOT center in Florida. He was employed at Raymond Corporation for 16 years as well as 2 ½ years at Branem Industries (Greene Technologies).
In addition to his family and Kathy, Ron loved motorcycles, classic cars and trucks, as well as music ranging from Led Zeppelin to Willie Nelson. Towards the end of his days, Ron looked forward to visits with his great-nephew Cole Clendening, who shared his love for music and classic cars. He also enjoyed visiting with his neighbors. Ron enjoyed spending time with his many great friends and family; whether it was around a campfire, on his parents porch, at the kitchen table, motorcycle trips with the "Hominy Hill Raiders", pulling all-nighters working on a car, square dancing with family at the Silver Dollar or dancing with Kathy at the Balsam Inn. "Free bird" was their song and described him fully.
Ron was one-of-a-friend. While rough around the edges he would drop everything to help a friend or stranger, especially if it involved a road trip. He was a great storyteller, sharing memories of his life or one-liners that would make everyone laugh, His favorite party quote; "Good party, but no whiskey, we go home."
Memorial contributions in Ron's memory can be made out to the Chenango County SPCA 6160 County Road 32, Norwich, NY 13815. Or to a local animal shelter of your choosing in memory of Lucy Dog, Ron's beloved dog, and Shadow who always loved to go for rides in the truck.
