Norwich, NY -Reva May (Walker) Sadler, 85, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2013 with her loving family at her side. Reva, affectionately known as "Gram" and "Aunt Re" was born in Greene, NY on December 10, 1927, a daughter of the late Florence E Walker and George D Walker. Reva was predeceased by her sons, Daniel E. Hauer and Edson G. Hauer II: a grandson, Christopher E. Hauer, and three siblings, brother, Jesse R. Walker, sister, Doris A. Walker, and sister Pauline E. "Betty" Walker.
Reva was a native of Chenango County and a graduate of Oxford Academy and Central School. She retired at the age of 45. Then she summered in New York and wintered in Florida.
She is survived by, her sister and partner in travel, Zilpha (Zel) Czyz of Syracuse, NY, brother and sister in law, Frank and Sylvia Walker of Preston, NY.
Reva is also survived by her grandsons, Jason Hauer of Binghamton, NY, Justin Hauer and girlfriend, Karen Grimes of Las Vegas, NV, grandson Kenneth and wife Cara Hauer of Maine, NY, granddaughter and granddaughter in law Heather and Patricia Hauer-Ross of Johnson City, NY, and granddaughter Nona Shapley.
Reva is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces, including her special nieces, who were like daughters to her, Ellen (Jerry) Loughren, Jean Marie (Dan) Sharpe, Pam F. Corbin, Sharon E. Cavness and a nephew, Mark D. Waters. She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Reva's life at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 30, 2012 at the Community Bible Fellowship Church, 562 County Road 32, Greene, NY. A reception will be held to continue the celebration of her life at the Oxford Fire Station, Oxford, NY immediately following the service.
