Patricia "PJ" Jean Cobb

It is with a heavy heart to announce that Patricia “PJ” Jean Cobb, 80, of Oxford, NY. Passed away on July 30, 2025. PJ was born in Cortland, NY, daughter of the late Edward and Imogene (Perkins) Cobb. She was predeceased by her parents and by her nephew Richard Cobb. PJ was also predeceased by her beloved dog Doogie.

PJ is survived by her loving brothers Mike and Roxy Cobb, Steve Cobb, and Curtis and Mary Cobb. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Brett and Shellie Cobb, Brian Cobb, Carl and Jessie Cobb, Sara and Dave Kasregis, Tammy Cobb, and several great nieces and nephews.

PJ had a love for animals, and a heart for volunteering for her community. She often volunteered at the Chenango County SPCA, the NYS Veteran’s Home of Oxford, and the Red Cross. She dedicated her life to her service in the United States Navy from 1966 until she retired as Sr. Master Chief in 1987. PJ was also County Treasurer and Past County Commander, she is now with her family, friends and fellow Legionnaires who have predeceased her. PJ was a dedicated Legion member, as well as an auxiliary member. PJ will be sorely missed, and her shoes will be difficult to fill. Fair winds and following seas Chief. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in PJ’s memory can be made to an American Legion of your choosing.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Behe Funeral Home Inc. 21 Main Street, Oxford, NY 13830. Funeral services for PJ will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 3:00PM, at the Norwich American Legion Post #189, 29 Sheldon Street, Norwich, NY 13815 with a reception to follow.
