Margaret j. burke

Margaret J. Burke, 83 of Oxford passed away on October 9, 2014 at her home with her family. She was born on January 19, 1931 in Norwich a daughter of the late Ross and Lucy Washburn.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Margaret's family was her greatest joy. She enjoyed being active, she retired from the Bida Adult Home and prior to that had worked at Oxford Academy and Central School. She enjoyed spending time with her great grandsons, reading, and completing circle words while relaxing on the porch.
She is survived by her two daughters, Donna and Timothy Tefft of Oxford and Diane and David Conklin of German; her two stepdaughters, Debbie Beckwith of McDonough and Patricia and Frank Speciale of Norwich; her two sons David Armondi and Alan Armondi both of Florida; her grandchildren, Melissa and Brian Crumb of Greene, Tonya Tefft of Oxford, Greg Beckwith of North Norwich and her two extra special great grandsons Edward and Timothy Johnson of Oxford and her step sister, Alice Angle. She was predeceased by her brother, Clifford Washburn of Virginia and her husband, Kenneth Burke of East McDonough.
Per Margaret's wishes, there will be no calling hours and a private graveside service for the immediate family in Riverview Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford.
