Kenneth C. Carter, 88, of Leesburg, FL passed away on July 14, 2026. Ken was born in South Dayton, NY the 3rd son of the late Richard P. Carter and Olive (Kelsey) Carter. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Robert H. Carter, Richard L. Carter, Norman W. Carter. He was also predeceased by his niece Alexandria P. Carter.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Paula Carter and his children Krista Carter Shaffer (Mike Pozzi) and Deron (Lori) Carter. He is also survived by his brother James K. Carter, his half brother Robert C. Carter, and his grandchildren Johcelyn (John) Schumacher, Kasey Shaffer, Mikenna Pozzi, Cameron (Mariah) Carter, and Garrett (Allurah) Carter. He also leaves behind his great grandchildren Avery, Mason, & Brooklyn Schumacher; Oliver & Lucinda Shaffer; Addy Hartman and Waylon Carter. Ken is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and extended family members. All those who knew and loved him will miss him dearly.

Ken proudly served in the United States Coast Guard from 1957-1961. He was an avid historian and loved studying anything related to the Civil War. In his early years he coached Little League and Ice Hockey. Ken worked for The Raymond Corporation for 35 years and was a member of Lake Ludlow.

Friends and family may call at the Behe Funeral Home Inc., 21 Main Street, Oxford, NY 13830 on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 11:00AM-12:00PM.
