Karen Ann LaVancha

Karen A. LaVancha, 72, Of Norwich, NY, passed away on August 17, 2026, in the comfort of her home with family by her side. Karen was born on September 16, 1953. She was the daughter of the late Clifford R. Oliver and Jean M. Lambert. After her graduation from Norwich Highschool in 1972 Karen worked for the A&P Supermarket, Norwich, NY for Twenty-Five years, she also worked for Bartle’s Pharmacy, Oxford, NY, before devoting her life to her daughter Samantha.

Karen is survived by her daughter Samantha LaVancha, stepmother Doris Townsend, siblings Sandra (Verne) Whaley, Tyma (Lynn) Oliver, Clifford (Clarice) Oliver, Osmond (Kerry) Oliver, Robert (Laura) Oliver, Daniel (Corinna) Oliver, Lisa (James) Parmalee, Theresa (Steve) Tiffany, and brother-in-law Timothy Theuring. Karen is also survived by many generations of loved and adored nieces and nephews, and extended family.

Karen was predeceased by her siblings Randy Oliver, Brenda Theuring, and James Oliver. She was also predeceased by her stepfather Paul Townsend.

Karen’s family would like to thank the Hospice of Chenango County for their kindness and diligent care during their time of need.
