Judy beers-betts

March 24, 1954 — April 21, 2011

On April 21, 2011 God took another angel home. Judy Ann Beers-Betts, 57, fell asleep with the Lord at her home in Bainbridge, NY surrounded by her loving family, and is now dancing with the angels.
Judy was born March 24, 1954 in Margaretville, NY to Carl and Josephine Godfrey Beers. She graduated from Andes Central School in 1972 and held a career as a nurses aide.
She is survived by her husband Joseph Betts, her Children and their families, Roberta (Beers) and John Schambach; Son Jeffory Sloven and daughter Dawn (Sloven) and Steven Miceli, and her beloved grandchildren: Alexander and Nicholas Schambach, Ivy, Ethan, and Caleb Sloven, and Micaela and James Miceli.
She is also survived by her Sisters and brothers and their families; Shirley Balcom; Barbara Hopkins; Jane Soderback; John and Wilma Beers; Carl Beers and Francine George; Cheryl (Fluffy) and Ken Stratton, Rose Brock; Robert and Shelly Beers; Donald and Jamie Beers; Terry Beers; Deborah and Ernie Smith. Many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and her loyal doggie, Daisy Mae.
Also surviving are her in-laws she affectionately referred to as her Florida family; Lester and Virginia Betts, Tommy Barnes, Barbara and Tim Rhode and families.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Richard Beers and sister Betty Weed.
She loved life without boundaries. She taught those around her to face the challenges of the day fearlessly with courage and passion. She was truly an amazing and giving woman. All who were privileged to know her knew her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandbabies. She enjoyed fishing, camping and most of all family gatherings.
As she did throughout our lives her ability to make us smile thru our tears and her wonderful sense of humor made the final days before her journey to heaven bearable. We know mom, "Don't sweat the small stuff" and promise you "we will take care of each other."
She and her family extend a thank you to all who cared for her and held us up during our trying journey. Expressed special thanks to Pastor Dave Seaver, sisters Fluffy and Debbie and niece Connie Hall.
She was the Team Captain of her Tri-Town Relay for Life Team: Jude's Angels; A member of the Chenango County American Legion, DAV Post 200 and the First Presbyterian Church in Andes, NY.
Friends may call on the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main Street, Oxford on Tuesday, April 26 from 1-4 pm with funeral services immediately following.
Those wishing to remember Judy with a donation are asked to consider donating to her Tri-Town Relay for Life Team: Jude's Angels or Chenango County Hospice and Palliative Care.
