Joan harvey

Joan M. Harvey, 78, of Sherburne, formerly of Oxford NY. Passed away on September 27, 2019. Joan was born in Norwich, NY, daughter of the late William and Helen Miles. Joan was predeceased by her son Christopher Harvey and by her siblings Joyce McGowan, Jack Miles, Ronald Miles, Madeleine Bradt, and Carolyn Predmore.
Joan is survived by her loving husband of 57 years David Harvey, her daughter Darlene Sheffer, her sister Barbara Miles and her grand children Justin Sheffer, Ryan Sheffer, Nicholas Harvey and Dustin McCullough. Joan is also survived my many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Joan was an avid reader and always enjoyed sitting down with a good book. She worked for the NYS Veterans Home for 30 years and was a member of the Oxford Fire Department Auxiliary. Joan loved to play piano and always enjoyed cooking and entertaining guests. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sibling and friend.

Funeral services for Joan will be held on Friday October 4, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the Behe Funeral Home 21 Main Street, Oxford, NY 13830, with Rev. David Spiegal officiating a reception at the United Church of Oxford Chapel will follow immediately. Private burial in Riverview Cemetery will take place at a later date.
