Janice m. steere

Janice M. Steere, 78 of Sherburne, NY passed away on August 28, 2012 with her family by her side. She was born on December 23, 1933 in Oxford a daughter of the late Glenn and Roberta (Ryan) Cummings. On June 23, 1953 in Oxford she married John R. Steere, who predeceased her on November 23, 1997.
She is survived by her daughters, Darlene L. Vartuli and companion, Keith, Judy A. Lee and husband, Denny and her son Kent M. Steere and companion, Cathy. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Lisa Fuller, Thomas Vartuli, Linda Steere, Jessica Steere and Matthew Lee; and 8 great grandchildren, Brian, Katelyn, Austin, Dalton, Brady, Ashley, Dawson, and Bailey. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Cummings.
Janice was a very loving mother and her family was of the utmost importance. She was a child care provider for many years. She and her husband also provided home care to Roland Alger for many years.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 2:00 PM from the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with the Rev. Stephen Reese, pastor of the Columbus Community Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, Oxford on Saturday from noon until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Norwich Fire Department or the charity of one's choice.
