James e. 'stud' turner

James "Stud" Turner, Sr., of East McDonough passed away on August 27, 2021, at Chenango Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 10, 1932, in Weston, West Virginia a son of the late Alla J. and Daphne (Means) Turner. In March of 1968 he married Jeanne Buffalo, who survives.
Besides his wife, Jeanne, Jim is survived by his son and daughter in law, James and Roberta (Alford)Turner, his grandchildren, Corey Turner, Kayleigh Turner and Raymond Mundy and his great grandson Jase Brewster. His nieces, Daphne, Thelma and Sandy and nephews, Vince, George, and Warren also survive. He was predeceased by his brothers, AJ and Warren and his sisters Virginia Stiles, Jean Burke, and Dorothy McClellan.
Jim was a proud veteran of the Korean War and a life member of the National Association of Atomic Veterans. He was a life member of Fort Hill Post #376, American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family and friends and was a member of the Oxford Rod and Gun Club. Jim loved Bluegrass music. He was a sports fan, especially the New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics and Larry Byrd. He loved watching NASCAR on television. He loved telling jokes and stories.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford at 6:00 PM followed by military honors. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 PM until the time of the service.
