Irving Wesley Hall of Oxford, NY passed away on March 8, 2026, after a long illness. He was predeceased by his father Donald Hall, and mother, Evelyn Hall. He is survived by his companion, Ellen Anderson, a sister, Eloise Ham, a brother, Warren Hall, and daughters Jennifer and Jessica.
Irving was born in 1936, and raised in Pomona, California. He studied at Stanford in the 50s and Barkeley in the 60s. He was one of 64 students arrested in San Fransico on May 13th, 1960, for protesting the House Committee on Un-American Activities. Because of this he became an activist for life.
Irving co-authored “In Search of The Truth”, a reply to the FBI’s red baiting of the protestors. He debated William F. Buckley and Ronald Reagan.
Irving was among the first California high school teachers to include the Holocaust in a required course. He campaigned against the Vietnam War and Nixon’s invasion of Cambodia in 1970.
Irving taught English, political science, philosophy, economics and history at a number of California and New York Colleges.
For 15 years Irving owned and operated a contracting firm in Manhattan, NY.
Irving is the author of political satire, The Einstein Sisters Bag the flying Monkeys, of which he was very proud. He was the executive producer of the documentary Onward Christian Zionists.
Irving was interviewed on PBS affiliate WSKG about his satire on Christians Zionism. In 2011, he presented his documentary, “Onward Christian Zionists” at the Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America Summer gathering in the Easten Mennonite University In Northen Virgina.
Irving moved to Oxford in 2010, where he lived out the remainder of his life with his companion, Ellen Anderson.
There will be no funeral services at this time. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Behe Funeral Home Inc, Oxford, NY.
