Irene m. saxby

Irene Saxby, 90 of Bath, formerly of Oxford passed away on October 31, 2016 at Taylor Health Care in Bath, NY. She was born on June 22, 1926 in Oxford a daughter of the late Linford and Nina (Bowen) Matteson. She was predeceased by her husband, Burton Saxby on November 26, 1975.
She is survived by her son, James Saxby of Norwich; her brother and sister in law, Frederick and Muriel Matteson; and her sister in law, Karen Matteson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Irene was a long-time member of Lafayette Chapter #340, Order of the Eastern Star and the United Church of Oxford. She worked at Norwich Mills.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the United Church of Oxford, 25 Main St., Oxford, NY with pastor Rev. Linda Rackliffe officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Members of Lafayette Chapter will conduct a service prior to the funeral on Monday.
