Helena Menard, 88 of Oxford passed away on March 16, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born on August 20, 1930 in Hemingford, Quebec a daughter of the late Joseph and Amanda (Duquette) Barriere. She married Armond J. Menard, who passed way on December 21, 2011.
She is survived by her children, Diane and Gary Smith of Norwich, Janet and David Hicks of Pittsburgh, PA, Ronald and Tami Menard of Oxford, Kevin and Kim Menard of Norwich, Keith and Sue Menard, Dale and Roxanne Menard, and Daniel and Corrine Menard all of Oxford. 32 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Helena was co-owner of Menard's Garage with her husband for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed collecting Hummel figurines and model race cars. She and Armond enjoyed spending winters in Florida. She was active with the Rolling Antiquers Old Car Club. Family was very important to her and she loved the annual family pig roast. She attended the Oxford Ladies Coffee Club.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's RC Church, Oxford, with Rev. Paul Machira officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
