Helen E. Noble

December 28, 1940 — September 3, 2023

McDonough, NY

Helen Noble found peace on the beautiful Sunday morning of September 3, 2023.  Always of curious mind and generous heart, she opened her home to many more than just her immediate family. Her adventurous spirit touched the lives of everyone she met. Among the many things she loved to explore in life, --such as her passion for baking & cooking, her many accomplishments martial arts, quilting and embroidery, her love of horses, her many days spent camping with family and friends, her wide interest in Sci-fi, Fantasy, and the old west, --the most common thread throughout her long life was her love of nature.  She was more than an avid gardener. Being barefoot in the soil was her happy place… her Zen.  Whether living in Delran, New Jersey or McDonough, New York, she would be among the first people someone would go to if something was wrong or if they needed advice.  She was a woman hard to nail down, who was both ahead of her time and from a time long past. A true original. She had the spirit of a warrior and the heart of a renegade. An old soul who shared her passions with all who knew her. Her wisdom resonates in them now, and she can take that peace with her.

She graduated from college with her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree and carried out her career helping and caring for others at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford, NY.

Helen is survived by her children, Robert (Jennifer) Noble, Victoria (Dale) Hodge, Rebecca Dean, and Kathleen (Richard) Rutherford. Her brother Albert (Shirley) Mazur and sister Dorothy (George) Troup. Her grandchildren Taylor Noble, Brooke (Billy) Lauko, Eric Harris, Richard Rutherford lll (Elizabeth Franco), James Rutherford (Kimberly Gipple), Alicia (Andrew) Parsons, and Marlena Shafer. She is also survived by several Great Grandchildren.

Helen is predeceased by her husband Robert Noble, her daughter Robin Noble and her grandson Ian Shafer.
