GERALDINE F. RICE OXFORD - Geraldine (Gerry) Rice, 91 of Oxford peacefully passed away early Monday morning, September 6, 2021, at her home. Gerry was born on May 13, 1930, in Pharsalia and she grew up and attended the Oxford area schools. Gerry was a resident of the Oxford area for well over 50 years. On April 18, 1953, in Norwich she married Fred Rice and shortly thereafter the family settled in Oxford, living on Chenango St. Gerry went to work for Norwich-Eaton Pharmaceuticals, where she remained employed until her retirement on May 31, 1992, from Norwich-Eaton's successor, Procter & Gamble. Gerry favorite pastimes were gardening, playing cards, and cooking and especially being involved with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Gerry is survived by her daughter Carolyn J. (Daniel) Tagliente of Cortland, sons Richard E. (Robin) Rice of Oxford, and Kevin E. Rice of Chenango Forks, and sister Charlotte Guinn of Norwich. Five grand-children Carla & Damian Tagliente, Jason & Justin Sylstra, and Connor Rice, eleven great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Gerry was predeceased by her husband, Fred E. Rice on January 25, 2004. Gerry's family is planning for a Day of Celebration in October. The family will be providing details. In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made of your choice.
