George C White Jr

George C. White Jr - Died Wednesday April 22, 2026. He was born October 2,1931 in Norwich, NY to George and Pearl White. He grew up in North Norwich and went to Norwich Schools, graduating in 1950. George enjoyed hunting and fishing and played baseball in high school and on town leagues after school. He then attended Morrisville Ag. and Tech College, graduating in 1952. George then joined the Marine Corps. and served in Korea. In 1953, he married Margery Townsend. After his military service they bought a dairy farm in Guilford, NY. They had three sons between 1957 and 1965, Michael, Paul, and David. In 1973, they sold the farm and moved to Bradenton, FL and bought a small motel. George worked construction until he retired in 1996. In 2003 he moved back to Oxford, NY where he married Barbara Rigg, they lived in Oxford for 21 years. George enjoyed doing odd jobs and was good at carpentry and woodworking.

He is survived by Barbara, his wife, Paul and Tammy White of Sherburne, NY, David and Debbie White of Waldorf, MD, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his sister Pauline Law, and his son Michael White.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Norwich SPCA. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Behe Funeral Home Inc. A Graveside will be held at 11:00am on Saturday May 9th at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Norwich NY, 13815.
