George Robert Hofmann

November 29, 1931 — April 7, 2024

George R. Hofmann, 93 of McDonough, NY, passed away on April 7, 2024. George was born in Smithville Flats, NY, where he lived and worked on his family Dairy farm for over 60 years. George loved the farm; it was truly his heart and soul. He was everything you would expect an outdoorsmen and farmer to be. He was kind and extremely hard-working dedicating endless hours to maintain the demands of farm life. George could always be found outside on the farm, weather it was cutting firewood, milking cows, or making maple syrup for the family farm. George loved spending time with his family, especially his great nieces and nephews. He loved going to tractor pulls and shows and never passed up an opportunity to bring his family along with him. He kept his mind sharp, always enjoying his down time working on puzzles and word searches. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
George was predeceased by his parents George Hofmann and Ida Rose (Coleman) Hofmann. He was also predeceased by his brother Louie Hofmann and by his niece’s husband Phillip Myers.
George is survived by his siblings Philip (Sharon) Hofmann Sr., Beth (John) Short, and Joan (Fred) Hofmann. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Cheri Short, Heidi Hofmann and Philip (Virginia) Hofmann Jr. Also surviving George are his extended family members Nanette Myers, Jonathan Hofmann, Kelcie Hofmann, Joshua Hofmann, and Conner Myers.
