Edward L. Phetteplace, 66 of Oxford passed away unexpectedly on August 26, 2015 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY. He was born on May 4, 1949 in Norwich, NY a son of the late Louis and Anna (Mallory) Phetteplace. On March 23, 1974 he married Sandra Youngs, who survives.
Besides his wife, Sandra, he is survived by his daughter Jennifer Phetteplace and his grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob. He was predeceased by his sister, Jean Hutchinson.
Ed was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Norwich and a member of the Gideon's. He enjoyed golfing and hunting. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching his grandsons play sports. He was a member of the Oxford Rod & Gun Club. He started his working career at Grand Union Supermarkets, moving on to Tops and Great American Markets in Oxford. He retired from Price Chopper Supermarket in Sidney.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 6:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 75 Calvary Drive, Norwich, NY, with Rev. Brian Conover officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Norwich.
