Dwight "Hoppy" Bradt, 90, of Oxford. Passed away on December 28, 2020. Hoppie was born in September of 1930 in Otego, NY, son of the late Deforest Bradt and Edith Alger. On December 17, 1955 He married Pauline "Polly" Caplette who later passed away in July of 2006. Hoppie is predeceased by his parents and his wife Polly. He was also predeceased by his brothers Larry Bradt and Harold Bradt, and by his cousin Warren "Sliv" Bradt. Hoppie is predeceased by many friends and extended family as well.
Hoppy is survived by his sister Linda Eaton, his children Bonny Fowler, Patricia Anderson, and his son in law John Anderson. He is also survived by his grandchildren David Anderson, Carrie Melendez, and Britny and William Fowler, and his great grandchild Cosmo Melendez. He will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved him.
Hoppy retired from Norwich Telephone Company "Contel" after 37 years. He also proudly served in the United States Navy from 1948-1952.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Hoppy's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Associations and the Diabetes Association.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Behe Funeral Home Inc. 21 Main Street, Oxford, NY 13830. Funeral service officiated by Rev. Larry Cronk will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow immediately after in Riverview Cemetery of Oxford.
