Donna J. Wright

With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Donna J Wright, who took her final bow- unafraid, and with an open heart- surrounded by her loving daughters on May 6, 2026, at the age of 89. A woman of strength, courage and beauty, she lived her life as a force of nature – unyielding, loving and unforgettable. She leaves behind a legacy complex in many ways.

Donna was a devoted daughter, sister (Sharon Horton) and wife to the late Paul, her husband of 46 years; a proud and guiding mother of four daughters – Terri (Jim Maynard), Paula (Jerry Garbow), Shelly (Richard Marks) and Julie (Tom Cashin). A kind grandmother to several children: Kallin Richards(predeceased), Shannon Beltz, Shelby Richards, Daniel Richards, Elissa Norton, Lauren Welsh, Amanda Crumb, Christopher Marks, Donna Cashin, Tommy Cashin, and great grandmother to many more. Donna was also a generous friend to many.

Donna’s talents were many besides those of being a wife and mother. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed for her daughters from small toddler dresses all the way to prom and homecoming dresses. She was also well known for sewing the best Halloween costumes in Oxford.

Donna worked at the New York State Veterans Home for close to 30 years as a Dietician Technician. She belonged to the United Church of Oxford for 70 years. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family for the past several years.

She was complex. She was proud. She was tough. She was magnificent. She was absolutely one of a kind.

Funeral services for Donna will be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 1:00PM, burial will immediately follow in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford, NY.
