Donald J. Utter, 79 of Oxford passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2017 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City. He was born on April 30, 1938 in Oxford a son of the late Frank and Helen (Lord) Utter. On January 4, 1964 in Simpson, PA he married Brenda J. Sampson.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda and his children, Donald Jay and Raeann Utter of Crawford, NE, Denise and John Allred of Harriman, TN, David and Amanda Utter of Oxford and Duane Utter of Oxford; his grandchildren, Erica, Alexis, Brooklyn, Harley, Freedom, Annabelle, Thomas, Tonya, Caleb, Alexander, Isaac, Sophia, Arthur Utter, Rebecca, David, Essence, Monica, and Xavier; his great grandchildren, Skylyn, Eric, Haley, and Liam. His sister in law, Marjorie Sampson of Greene and his brother in law, William Barber of Palmer, AK. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Utter and his sister Jean Barber and daughter in law Dawn Utter.
Don was a graduate of Oxford Academy and Central School, Class of 1957. He retired from The Raymond Corporation after 36 years of service. His family meant the world to him and spending as much time as possible with them. He was a member of the Moose Lodge for over 50 years. He loved the outdoors. He was a member of many bowling leagues. He enjoyed having coffee with his friends at Mr. Chubb's. He was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church.
Memorial services will be held on January 6, 2018 at 12:00 PM at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with the Rev. Michaela St. Marie officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home on January 6, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society. Friends and family may share their memories and condolences by visiting www.behefuneralhome.com
