Cleon H Salisbury, 91 of Greene NY, born June 19th, 1930, passed away peacefully surrounded by his three children on November 21, 2021.
Cleon is survived by his children; Charmaine (Salisbury) Thomas Barrows, Renee Salisbury, Kyle Salisbury and Crystal Lao. His Grandchildren: Brandon Barrows, Shannon (Barrows) James Lovelace, Ariel Salisbury and Cleon A, Salisbury. His Great Grandchildren; Blade Barrows, Madison Lovelace, his sister Sharon (Salisbury) John Cartor and his wife of 12 years; Peggy Moxley. Cleon is predeceased by his parents Cleon Max and Rachel (Webb) Salisbury, his sister Maxine Edgerton Blue and wife; Marlene (Cluff) Salisbury. Cleon graduated from Greene Highschool in 1949. He was a member of the FFA and the athletic association. He was an outstanding athlete in baseball, basketball, and bowling. In 1950-1951 he was a hunting guide in the Adirondacks and served as a small arms weapon inspector in the Army in 1951-1953. Cleon was the co-owner of C&M Salisbury Commercial Spraying Company with his father. In 1995 after 28 years Cleon retired from Raymond Corporation. He was a long-time member of the Brisben Fire Department. He was an avid Sportsman and member of many clubs. He enjoyed bow, rifle and muzzle loader hunting, fishing, and trapping. In 1997 Cleon scored a record book 17 point buck with his bow and arrow, adding him to the NYS Big Bucks Club for non-typical rack, ranking 20th statewide. Cleon was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, husband, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Behe Funeral Home Inc. 21 Main Street, Oxford NY 13830. There will be no funeral services per Cleon's request.
