Barry Lee Nye

Barry Lee Nye, 76, of Oxford, NY passed away suddenly on July 2nd, 2025 at his home. Born on august 15th,1948 in Harrisburg, PA to Mary and Oscar Nye. Following graduation from Central Dolphin High School, Harrisburg, PA; he enlisted in the army to fight for our country in the Vietnam war. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, puzzles and history. His passion was his trains. He spent many hours planning and putting together his layout. Barry had a soft spot for children and volunteered for many years at Catholic Charities at Christmas time, bringing toys to children. He also loved all his dogs who were constant companions over the years.

Barry is survived by his partner of 32 years, Rose Marie Knecht, his 3 children; Melissa Smith Goodwin, Lucinda (David) Newell, and Jeffery Nye, his beloved sister Deb (Doug) Lieby, sisters, Linda Nye, and Darlene Nye, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 nieces, and 1 great niece, 2 puppies; Josh and Amos. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Oscar.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Behe Funeral Home Inc. There is no services as per his wishes.
