Barbara Carolyn Boname (June 19, 1930 - October 8, 2018
Barbara Carolyn Boname was born on June 19, 1930 to Dr. Mat G. and Altha C. Boname. After graduating from Oxford Academy & Central High School in 1947, Barbara went on to Rochester Business Institute. She completed her degree at RBI, and accepted a position as a buyer/purchasing agent for Kodak in Rochester, for whom she worked her entire career until her retirement in 1985.
Barbara was an active member of the Transfiguration Lutheran Church in Irondequoit, NY, she enjoyed gardening, bowling, golf, fishing, playing bridge, and International travel. She was predeceased by her companion of 57 years, J.L. Davis, her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Mat G. Boname, her brothers, Peter, Bernard, and Walter.
Barbara had a dry sense of humor, loved to bake (she was famous for her homemade cinnamon rolls and steamed pudding with Brandy Sauce), and was a beloved Aunt to Walter B., Mark, Linda, Jennifer, Brenda, Mary, Carol, Michael, Michelle, and Andrew. A funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Barbara will be laid to rest in Riverview Cemetery with her parents, brothers Walter and Bernard, and her nephews, Walter and David and an infant niece.
